SIMPLE AIRTIGHT CONNECTIONS between building parts

With AIRTIGHT® Air Stop, connections between (prefab) building components can be easily thermally insulated, acoustically decoupled, and made airtight.

AIRTIGHT® Air Stop consists of a vacuum-sealed strip of mineral wool packaged in a vapor barrier PE film. After installation and puncturing the vacuum film, the wool expands, completely and firmly filling the entire space.

Toepassing Airtape

Wide range of applicability: AIRTIGHT® Air Stop can be used for airtight and thermal sealing of gaps, joints, and cavities in construction that are larger than 20 mm and/or irregular in shape.
Sealing applications include:
• Party wall cavities at façade, floor, and roof connections.
• Hollow core slab floors of the party wall cavity.
• Wooden inner cavity wall on (concrete) construction
• Renovation façades on existing constructions
• Window frames and façades on masonry.
• Wooden (roof) elements on masonry, etc.

Suitable for variable cavity widths: Thanks to its unique self-clamping ability, the Air Stop is highly suitable for variable cavity widths. With its high mechanical resistance, the Air Stop ensures a durable airtight seal.

Easy installation and weather resistant: The Air Stop is light and thin, making it easy and quick to install. The material is resistant to all weather conditions (even during installation).

Improvement of impact and airborne sound insulation: During the assembly and finishing of the concrete construction, the Air Stop prevents the ingress of mortar into the foundation and supports. This prevents the creation of sound bridges in the cavity and ensures that the impact sound insulation remains intact.

Disassemblable and Recyclable: The Air Stop can be easily disassembled during demolition and is highly recyclable and reusable

Airtightness

The AIRTIGHT® Air Stop, tested according to the NEN EN 1026 method, has an airtightness class 4 (classification according to NEN-EN 12207). This is the highest achievable European airtightness class and demonstrates that the air permeability of the connection made with AIRTIGHT® Air Stop is minimal.

The mineral wool in AIRTIGHT® Air Stop is classified as the highest fire resistance class (A1). The used filmis flame-retardant.

For fire-resistant applications with higher fire safety requirements, we recommend the FIRETIGHT Fire Stop.
